Teaching rugby with video analysis

Teaching rugby drills couldn't be easier.

Rugby sportswizards™ have been created to help rugby players and their coaches learn how to perform rugby skills from the All Blacks.

Rugby sportswizards™ is a video analysis software programme, allowing players and coaches to film a skill being performed, and then compare their performance to an exemplar.

Rugby sportswizards can be downloaded onto a PC with a Windows XP SP2 operating system, Windows Vista or an Intel-based Mac running Windows.

When downloading a Rugby sportswizard™ you will also need to download the Rugby sportswizard™ Media Player, as this is the system which will allow you to play back your video footage and run all the groovy features.

A Rugby sportswizard can only be downloaded once to a computer, but multiple users can work from that one computer. Reports can be saved and viewed on other PC’s and MACs that have Adobe Acrobat Reader installer. Any video files that are captured can also be viewed on PC’s and MAC’s capable of playing Windows Media Video (WMV) files. If you want to exchange your video footage with other users you can.

Follow the instructions in the Rugby sportswizards™ for setting up filming. A clear picture helps in the final analysis. Use the CompareME tool to compare yourself to your favourite All Black and learn from the All Blacks!

There are 41 unique Rugby sportswizards™ in total, with some skills performed by more than one All Black. Rugby sportswizards™ can be downloaded as individual units, in positional packs (a Loose forwards pack, for example, or a Halfbacks pack) and as a Coaches pack (a pack that includes all 41 Rugby sportswizards™).

Coaches will find Rugby sportswizards an invaluable tool to help show players how to improve their skills. Not only are the exemplars experienced players, the skills are taken from the New Zealand Rugby Union guidebook, and show the correct technique. Reports can be printed off, or saved for later discussion.
Coaching teams can use Rugby sportswizards™ for teams at any level – from beginners to Clubs – and have objective coaching discussions around potential for player improvement.

Safety aspects of the game will be improved as players perfect their technique using objective analysis. The software powering Rugby sportswizards™ was created by biomechanical experts passionate about helping elite athletes improve their ability.

As the rules of the game develop and change, Rugby sportswizards™ will reflect those changes with regular updates.
